Welcome to Victory Basenjis
my name is Tim V. Huff. I first got involved in dog shows when I
got my first Basenji in 2000, Ch Jublie’s Black Bandit “ Deuce”. I
didn’t know very much about showing dogs at that time but knew I
wanted to learn. I hired a handler to show him at first Kathy
Caton, she had been in Basenjis for many years. The first weekend
he was shown he received a 4 point major and I was hooked! Soon
after that I started taking classes to learn to handle my dogs.
Since then I have done very well in the show ring having finished
my own dogs and have shown them to top rankings in the country,
also winning breed at the 2006 Westminster Kennel Club.

Thanks to
the help of my fiancée Kelly Caton, her sister and co-owner Kathy
and their parents Jan and Joe of Safari Kennels, I have learned to
show dogs and been able to travel the country with them showing my
dogs. With their help I have been able to continue my love for the
sport.
Along the
way I have made some great friends in Tad Brooks and Joseph hurt
of Meisterhaus Basenjis. I now own a few of their beautiful dogs
and have done very well in the show ring with them. I look forward
to working with them for many more years to come.
I now
plan on continuing to show my dogs and also to start breeding
from time to time. I look forward to many years of fun and
dedication to this wonderful breed and also great success in the
show ring.
